cupid.com Cupid.com Reviews

cupid.com

Cupid.com is an online dating site that is based in the UK and has a large number of UK members but is open to and matches people together internationally, including from Europe and the United States. It has over 2 million members, around 600,000 of which are active each month, and offers a wide range of features through a subscription service including emails, webchat, personal blogs, and instant messaging.

Cupid.com Main Features Reviewed

  • Cupid.com is an easy to use site that allows you to meet people in your area or further afield, including internationally. The site offers a mobile app, making it easier to make matches on the go, and you can sign up using your FaceBook profile.

  • After you have created a profile, you can search those of others based on personal preferences and send people messages or wink at them if you are interested. In line with the site’s name, you can also send a cupid’s arrow which are standardized questions designed to break the ice with someone you are interested in talking to. Winks, arrows, and chats require a paid subscription as do most other features.

  • Like other sites, Cupid.com will bring up matches based on personality traits such as patience, consideration, thoughtfulness, and empathy. Unlike other sites, they do not use a questionnaire to identify these traits but ask members to select their own, which means the matches might not be as accurate as you would hope. Also, unlike other sites, Cupid.com does not allow you to save searches or favorite people you are interested in, so make sure you contact people as soon as you find someone of interest.

  • Searches can be carried out on age, gender, location, hobbies and interests and personal preferences around appearance. When people come up in searches, you can mark them as yes, no or maybe and you can also send a mass flirt to everyone in your search.

Cupid.com Pros and Cons Reviewed

Pros

  • The site is easy to register for and use with handy drop-down menus to help you navigate.

  • Lots of features that allow you to communicate with other people on the site, though most of these are only available through a subscription.

Cons

  • While an international site, the majority of members are in the UK and want to meet others locally
from people who aren’t really interested in you.

  • Very limited features available if you do not have a paid subscription (and constant pop-up reminders to subscribe, which can be annoying)

  • Inability to save searches to go back to later

  • While features like multi-flirt might be fun, it does mean you could get a lot of contacts

Cupid.com Prices Reviewed

Cupid.com is free for women, who get a basic account when they sign-up and can begin messaging men immediately. Women can also pay an upgrade to make sure their profile appears at the top of searches, but it isn’t required for them to use the site.

Men do have to pay to use the site after an initial free trial. To try out all the features, even as a trial, they will need to pay a small fee (around $5), which will grant them access for three days. After that, if they want to keep using the site, they will need to choose from a duration of a membership.

Duration
Cost (USA)
1 Month
$37
3 Months
$84 ($28 per a month)
6 Months
$112 ($19 per a month)

The monthly cost reduces the more months you pay for in advance; a three-month membership costs $28 a month, and a six-month membership costs $19 a month. Membership subscriptions are automatically renewed, including after the free three-day trial, which reviews suggest has caught a lot of people by surprise when they saw an unexpected credit card charge.

Overall: Is Cupid.com a Scam or Trusted Site?

Cupid.com is an attractive site that has been designed to look similar to social media platforms like FaceBook. It is easy to use and easy to navigate and has a large membership base, though the number of members active each month is lower than on other sites at 30%. This has led to questions as to whether all the members are genuine and Cupid.com reviews suggest that many paying members believe this is not the case. Some have said they thought they were talking to staff and others to bots which could mean they were part of a Cupid.com scam.

Another issue raised in reviews is the quality of customer service, which is said to be poor and has left people out of pocket. More than one review, for example, said that after signing up for the three-day trial people had been charged for a full month and that this had not been refunded. Others report being locked out of their accounts or being told they need to take out a paid membership after they have already subscribed, meaning they can’t take advantage of features they have paid for.

I joined this site just for fun…I was not even looking to date, but, soon I found many matches, and went on several dates. Yes, it is true that there are many scammers on the site, but it is not the sites fault. You will come across people who will pretend to be from regions near you, but, in actuality would be sitting in some part of Africa. It is easy to know the truth behind them, just ask them a simple question about their location, and you will come to know if they are lying or not. It is that simple!

I went for a membership of 6 months. I even received an email confirming the membership upgrade, and when I opened the account, I could see that now I had access to certain new features…clearly my account was upgraded. However, when I opened my account again after 2 days, it didn’t look like it was an upgraded account. My access to additional features had stopped, and I was again on the basic account. I contacted the support team immediately, and informed them about my problem, but there was no reply from their side. And now it has been 3 months, and I am still waiting for their message.

I have one advice for men looking for finding women in other country – ‘Don’t register yourself on these sites if you don’t have intention of travelling to these countries ever”. I believe that at least 8 out of the 10 women on this site are professionals, and, just want to extract money from you. They will tell you all kinds of sob stories, gain your sympathy, and then ask for money. Most of these women can do anything for money, so it is better that you visit them, have some fun together, and then offer them money. It is no use talking them on phone, and making an emotional fool of yourself, when they are not looking for a relationship, and are just looking for some pocket money. These girls will shower with a lot of love, and attention, but keep in mind that all of it is fake, and don’t get serious, or you will end hurting yourself.

Cupid.com is simply annoying. The navigation is poor, it is really difficult to even go from one page to another. The colors are in poor state, and, too bright. There is no search feature, and although the prices are low, the site lacks the basic features offered by other similar sites. The site is difficult for me….while chatting there were times when I was automatically logged out, and I had to log in again.

I like the website personally. It is a decent website, and, has ample profiles to choose from. The website is good, if you want to choose a partner from another country. The fee that this website is also low, when compared to other similar websites. However, the website needs to work on its chat system, which is very weak. Also, there seems not much difference between basic membership, and the paid one. Also, there are many scammers on this website, but, I suppose that is something which is common on all such sites.
